RM Friedland presented a $50,000 donation to the Berkeley College Foundation on Monday, April 7, 2025, celebrating the sale and forthcoming redevelopment of the former Berkeley College campus in White Plains, NY. Proceeds from the donation will support student scholarships and assist the Berkeley College Foundation food pantries in addressing food insecurity among college students.

“The Berkeley College Foundation is incredibly fortunate to have a valued partner in RM Friedland, whose generous financial support plays an integral role in advancing our mission,” said Ellen Zitis, Executive Director, Berkeley College Foundation.

The Berkeley College Foundation provides scholarship funding for need-based, academically deserving students who otherwise would not have the financial means to pursue and complete an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree at Berkeley College. The Foundation also addresses student food insecurity by subsidizing three campus food pantries at campuses in Woodland Park and Newark, NJ, and New York City, NY.

RM Friedland identified the Berkeley College properties at 99 Church Street and 6 Cottage Place as ideal candidates for adaptive reuse and redevelopment, recognizing the sites’ prime locations and potential for transformation.

“This redevelopment will provide essential homeownership opportunities and represents another step forward in the revitalization of downtown White Plains for residents of all income levels,” said John Barrett, Co-Managing Director, Investment Sales, RM Friedland.
