A Message from the Executive Director - Summer - Fall 2024

Greetings and salutations from the Berkeley College Foundation!

I hope your summer is proving to be relaxing, enjoyable, productive, and rejuvenating all at once. Time indeed marches on, and soon enough, the warm breezes and long days will give way to the crisp air and colorful foliage ushered in by the fall season. The Berkeley College Foundation (BCF) is taking this opportunity to reflect on past highlights and look forward to events ahead.

The BCF’s 7th Annual Golf Outing held on June 3, 2024, was an unequivocal success! A record number of golfers attended, with strong support from both new and loyal sponsors. Golfers and sponsors are the cornerstone of this event, and we are truly grateful for their engagement and generosity. A special shout-out goes to the BCF Board members, Berkeley College staff volunteers, and BCF Golf Chair, Melvin Montalvo. Their hard work and dedication ensured this outing was an organized, high-spirited, and successful fundraiser.

Cheers to the launch of a new fundraising initiative! A wine-tasting event held on June 20, 2024, at Total Wine & More in Totowa, NJ was enjoyed by Berkeley College staff, alumni, and friends. We are planning for an encore performance this fall.

Our three Berkeley College campus food pantries continue to serve our students facing food insecurity. In addition to food basics, the offerings include hygiene products, diapers for students who are parents of young children, and “Grab and Go” bags containing breakfast, lunch, or dinner items.

On November 14, 2024, the BCF will host its fall 2024 Scholarship Recipient Awards reception at the Woodland Park campus. It is most inspiring to meet the recipients, who are joined by family members at this event. As of May 2024, the BCF has awarded $224,000 in scholarship money to academically deserving need-based students.

Save the date! Our 4th annual Berkeley College Networking and Food Drive soiree will be held Thursday evening, November 7th at Uncorked Wine & Lounge in Totowa, NJ. Stay tuned for more information.
