Berkeley College Foundation Receives Grant from Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church to Support Student Food Pantries at the College’s Newark and Woodland Park, NJ Campuses
October 7, 2024The Berkeley College Foundation was presented with a generous grant from Saint Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Wyckoff, NJ in support of our Newark, and Woodland Park, NJ campus food pantries. On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, Andrew “Deacon Andy” Saunders and James Townley, representatives from the stewardship committee of St. Elizabeth’s Church, visited the Berkeley College Woodland Park, NJ food pantry. During their visit, it was noted that 841 student orders were filled between the two campus food pantries during the fall 2023 to spring 2024 academic year. Deacon Andy expressed his impressions after the visit, “I was extremely impressed with everyone I met during my visit. Most especially their enthusiasm for the mission of the Berkeley College Foundation and the importance of the food pantry in assisting those underserved students experiencing food insecurity.” He added, “I was grateful for the opportunity to see the food panty and to speak with those involved in running its operations. It gives me great joy to see the good work being done!”
